From the thunderous opening chorus O Fortuna, to jubilant celebrations of spring and love, and hauntingly beautiful melodies, Orff’s composition mesmerises and captivates, painting a vivid sonic tapestry of the human experience.
Virtuoso pianists and percussionists fill the air, while voices soar to dizzying heights, resonating with the full force of human emotion.
UWA Choral Society is also thrilled to introduce a captivating new work, What would I give … by outstanding Perth composer Lydia Gardiner, fresh from commissions for the Perth Festival, Vanguard Consort and the St George’s Cathedral Consort. What would I give… is a captivating meditation on time and the transience of life, brought vividly into being by this outstanding young composer.
Joined by the Aquinas Schola Cantorum, the sweet sound of children’s singing intertwines with adult voices to create a world of emotion and innocence.
